Yesterday, New Balance offered more insight into what we can expect from the 2014 version of their Special Edition runDisney shoes.
They’re offering a new take on their 860 model: Sorcerer Mickey for men and a pink Minnie for women. New this year, however, is the great news that they will also be offering these same new shoes in kid’s sizes.
This is a smart step forward in the partnership between New Balance and runDisney, considering the increasing popularity of the family 5Ks and Kid’s races that are an integral part of any race weekend hosted by runDisney.
These shoes can only be purchased at a Health and Fitness Expo held as part of a runDisney event, so if you absolutely must have them, then plan a trip to either Walt Disney World or the Disneyland Resort during one of their race weekends. A complete list of races is available at runDisney’s website.
They released this video to outline their plans:
No actual view of the shoes, yet, but if that blurred shot of the Minnie shoe is any indication, I’ll be passing on them again this year. I think the theme for the shoe is cute, but I’m getting pretty tired of pink sports equipment for ladies.
Maybe I’ll grab a pair of Sorcerer Mickey’s instead…
What do you think? Would you get a pair of runDisney themed New Balance shoes?
